How to Dream

prov 16

Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

James 4:15

RECOMMENDED READING:  ECCLESIASTES 6:1-6  “There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other.Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?”

COMMENTS:  Do you have goals and dreams?  Are you planning and working to reach those goals and make those dreams a reality?  Such pursuits are good.  Worthwhile goals do require planning and work to achieve.  No one plans or has a goal to be an addict or homeless.  But such happen often because of choices made either by the victim or someone close to them.

Proverbs 16:1-9 “The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.”

God’s plans take precedence to ours.  God allows us to pursue our plans and goals, good or bad, but will put obstacles and people in our path to warn us in an attempt to persuade us to take a better path.  We are free to choose wisely or foolishly but sooner or later God’s plans will prevail, and we will either benefit from supporting and making His plans our plans; or we suffer the consequences from resisting and not being in those plans.                        We are not on earth to pursue our own glory or satisfaction, but God’s. Pursuing God’s best is what turns out best for us.

“God has plans for this world, not problems. There is never a panic in heaven.  Ian Thomas
