HOW CAN I HELP?

cornelius-meets-peter SCRIPTURE: Acts 10:30-33  “Cornelius answered: ‘Three days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me and said, “Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.” So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.’”                                                                                              COMMENTS :  Today’s story is a wonderful example of how God works.  I would encourage you to read the entire chapter to discover and absorb the entire story and background.  God had been preparing Cornelius for much time, responding to his seeking spirit and revealing Himself to him a little at a time.  The more Cornelius learned, the more he loved God and wanted to learn more.  Peter had learned much from Christ from how He responded to those who were seekers, including Romans, so Peter shouldn’t have been surprised.  Well, maybe he wasn’t but still wasn’t eager or ready to embrace Roman soldiers like he was about to be called to.  No, God was about to reveal a deeper capacity to love both to Peter as well as to Cornelius.  The result of their meeting would impact them both greatly and prepare them both for a life of obedience and service and witness that would make an eternal difference.  One of the amazing things we will discover, when we get to heaven, is how stories like this impacted others who impacted others generation after generation til the present.  We might just discover that one story rippled through the generations to ours and even to us.   One thing I am sure, there is a story just as amazing that rippled to you and me that is just as amazing if not this story.  Why?  Because that is the way God works and the way He loves to work.  Our story will ripple to impact others too if we are faithful too.   So lets go make ripples!!!
