God Changing Our Thinking

Acts 11:9-14  ‘The voice spoke from heaven a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again. Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying. The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, “Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.”‘                                                                                                          COMMENTS : Peter required a lot of work and preparation from God before he could be usable.  Jesus invested 3 years but even that wasn’t enough.  In spite of being with Christ for 3 years, he still was not ready to risk death for Him on Good Friday.  Even after the Holy Spirit came and Peter began preaching the Gospel, he still had some lingering prejudices against his gentile captors.  Aren’t you glad God chose for His sacrifice and message to apply to Gentiles as well as Jews?  To men and women of all colors and nationalities and backgrounds?  AMEN.  Truth is Jews were not a chosen race for privilege or for blessing but for outreach.  God chose the Jews to be His evangelists.  What would the world be like now if they had been faithful to their calling.  Even when God gave Abraham His covenant the promise to those He would evangelize.  Read Genesis 12:1-3 “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew theeAnd I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Abraham was to tell and show the world what God was like and covenant available to them too if they would receive God’s message. Yes, what would the world be like if Abraham would  have waited til God fulfilled His promise instead of taking matters in his own hands with Ishmael through Hagar.  What if he had shared God’s message instead of just seeking his own gain.  What if the world would have accepted that message instead of fighting it?  Well, every generation has had the same opportunity and so do we.  What would our country be like if revival came?  What would our world be like?  It starts with God’s people “II Chron 7:14 – “14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.””  We can blame others but God is making us accountable for our own choices and actions.  Revival starts with us but will not end with us if we are obedient to His calling.  The Good News is past failures and sins need not prevent future revival in our hearts as well as in our communities – country – world.  The choice is still ours.  Past experience indicates revival comes when times are at their worst and when sin is the strongest and worst.  Truth likely is things just have to get bad enough before people wake up and realize just what they have lost and come back to God seeking forgiveness and healing.  God will not come to us uninvited.  So it really is up to us.  If we seek God to revive us and make us a usable vessel, than revival will come to us and the possibility and hope of that revival spreading to the lost begins to happen.  True they, like we, must make their own choices but how can they if we are still harboring sin and disobedience in our hearts.  God does use imperfect servants for His purpose but there are some pre-requisites He requires of His servants.  They must surrender to Him and allow Him into their souls to cleanse and guide them.  Until we do that, we are the mission field instead of being His missionaries.  So which are you and which do you want to be.  There is no other choice or place.  We are either a mission field or a missionary.  We are either lost or found. What could we give up that would bring better gain? NOTHING ! Scripture and past generations are shouting NOTHING IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOD’S PRESENCE AND BLESSING!!

    Muchas gracias.
    Un saludo.
