WHET YOUR APPETITE FOR HEAVEN

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”  1 Corinthians 2:9

SCRIPTUREROMANS 11:33-36  33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord?Or who has become His counselor?”35 “Or who has first given to HimAnd it shall be repaid to him?”36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen..”

COMMENTS: I don’t know about you, but as I get older and feel my age, I find myself reflecting on what God still has for me to do, on work and “loose ends” still needing done, on home and church projects and volunteer work still needing my input and help, on relationships still needing my influences.  However, I am also reflecting more on how the lives of those before me impacted me while they were in their senior years and using their example to help guide me on how maybe I should prioritize and use what time God has yet for me to spend.  Even 20 years seem all so brief and short from my perspective now after nearly 70 years of life even though at 20 I thought it was an eternity and even at 60, twenty years seemed like a long time.

Such contemplations may sound depressing or the anticipation of heaven and knowledge of those I personally know residing there makes going there something to look forward to like I looked forward to retirement when in my late 40’s with greater anticipation when in my late 50’s.  Such caused me then to make preparations in 401k and financial planning and investing and expense control that helped in providing income during the retirement years I am now enjoying.  I couldn’t have imagined creating and building a blog and devotional journal distribution during the years as has unfolded now.  Likewise, I cannot imagine what God has planned for me and you in heaven – more   than a beautiful place to live and enjoy – more than a place to entertain ourselves.  Also a place to do His bidding and fulfill His Plan and Work.   Without the chains of sin and satan’s torment and temptations, what will you and I be capable of doing?   What can we do now that we were unprepared for 20 or 30 years ago?  I can think of much, of which the least is being able to write this journal.  So what is God preparing us for now in the years before heaven?  I look forward to discovery, because I know He is planning something very good for me and equally good for you!  What and when is His secret for now …  Just like children, we can ask “how many days until Christmas?”   But for us “how many days until heaven?”   His response, like our parents long ago would respond “Soon my child, soon.”   AMEN?  AMEN!
