TO KNOW HIM IS TO TRUST HIM

1

7 The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:7-10

COMMENTSWhen we were children, we trusted and depended on our parents, especially our mothers, didn’t we?   Our mothers because she was there for us more since our fathers had to work outside the home earning  money to provide for us.  But our fathers were who taught us the importance of a work ethic,  keeping our word, and doing quality work and putting in a full days work for a full days pay.  Our mothers taught us the importance of love and taking care of each other and compassion but  both taught us about discipline and obedience to their rules.

Trust they both loved us and we knew they both had our best interest in the rules they made and trusted them.   When discipline was needed, we knew what we did wrong and understood discipline was necessary since punishment and cost of disobedience was necessary even though we didn’t like it at all.

They taught us to love and fear and obey God too.   The need and purpose of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was clearly taught, which helped us understand  why punishment is necessary.  For Christ to take our punishment  for sin proves He does have our backs and our best interest in mind.

To conclude  who our true enemy is (satan) and who it is not (Christ).  Who we dare not trust and  who we our eternal lives depend on trusting.

Having good  parents helped us relate to Christ being a perfect parent   to us.

Having Him as our  perfect parent who is preparing a perfect eternal home and body for us.  So enduring hardship for even a few years is endurable knowing Christ is in control and is more than willing and able to  defeat our true enemy (satan).  We know we need not  fear since there is nothing we can face, even death, that Christ hasn’t already defeated .

Like a child, all too often we are “out of sight, out of mind”, which means we start doubting and loosing faith when we become distracted and take our eyes off Him.  So keeping our minds and eyes focused on Him is key  to reaching and sustaining the level of faith and trust needed.
