Throwing Bricks or Building a Foundation

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.Galatians 5:25
Recommended Reading: Galatians 5:22-26 “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
COMMENTS: Overcoming handicaps and hardship and even tragedy is a drive within everyone. However, discouragement, misguiding sin and temptations, physical weakness and sickness are all among the obstacles keeping or delaying such triumphs becoming common success stories. The world wants us to believe God is a hindrance, but truth is that God is key to succeeding and the evils of th is world not only hinder but are more often the reason for failure.
When we finally believe and act on the belief that God has our best interest at heart and will guide us and help us and strengthen us and rally good council and support from other believers to us when we repent and finally begin following His path. When we finally abandoned our sinful past and temptations, we are vulnerable to. When we finally open ourselves and seek God’s Holy Spirit into our lives and follow His council will we begin demonstrating His characteristic and conduct – conduct that will bring life and prosperity and healing long term but possibly will bring some hardship short term. Why? Well, satan doesn’t like to be ignored or abandoned. He is used to being effective at tricking us with lies and false expectations so when we see through His tricks, he tries harder and may even try to harm us or get others to try to hurt us.
How we act and conduct ourselves usually has the greatest impact when consistent in good and bad times, during happy – healthy times as well as during sad – unhealthy times of sickness or tragedy. Others see how genuine and truth our faith is during difficult times more than during peaceful times. Sure, we like and work hard to enjoy peaceful prosperous healthy times and try to avoid tragedy and sickness and poverty.
Yet, if we look from God’s perspective, we begin to realize short term sacrifice to get long term benefits is a reasonable trade-off. Parents make sacrifices for their children, students go to school many years to learn trades that will support them for many years, Christ followers give up self-gratification in order to follow God’s better plan. Satan wants us to go with short term self-gratification instead and don’t worry about later.
So, who will you and I believe and who will we follow? A few years from now will be too late to decide. Our choice will not only affect us but also many who we influence too, so it is vital to choose wisely. AMEN? AMEN!
The whole Christian life, from the moment we are born again until we come into His presence, is a walk by faith—a faith that rests upon the indwelling Holy Spirit.
