It’s all about Him, not Us!

Recommended Reading:  Revelation 7:9-13,17  “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come? … The Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”.”

COMMENTS: Two can hear or see the same event and have two completely different descriptions and comments even if they clearly are describing the same event accurately.   For the Christian, the above worship gathering is one we are so longing and looking forward to.  For a marginal Christian or non-Christian, the description seems to be having to endure a really long worship service.  But for the Christian, it is a time to witness and be with our Savior and Redeemer and finally be able to express our love and gratitude and worship to Him without a body bound by sin and fatigue and distraction and temptation.

Have you ever enduring a long worship service longing for it to finally end?  Children likely feel this way pretty common, but if we are honest, we would have to admit we have felt this way occasionally either due to fatigue or nature of service.  Truth is, even in heaven if we still had our sin corrupted bodies but without satan’s tormenting temptations, we would likely start out strong but soon be like the disciples after the Passover Supper while waiting for Jesus to finish praying.  We would grow weary and bored and even fall asleep.

Well, Jesus grew weary when on earth in a human body, BUT NO MORE!  He was the first to be resurrected and someday we will too!!  But make no mistake, Christ is and has always been Divine and One and Equal with the Father and Holy Spirit.  He was there and involved at creation and when Lucifer was both created and when he was thrown out of heaven.  But the heavenly body He was resurrected into gives us clues as to how much better ours will be.  We will no longer get tired or hungry or old or sick.  We won’t need sleep either.  But we will enjoy eating.  Can’t imagine that?  OK, me neither.  But some things we can accept as “good news to look forward to” and believe by faith it will come true in God’s time and way.

So, we won’t grow tired or bored or indifferent towards worship to Christ at this event even if it were to last 1,000,000 years.  Those who think such a gathering is unfair or too one sided likely won’t be invited unless they have a change of heart.  Is Christ worthy of our worship and praise?  OF COURSE!!  WHY?  BECAUSE HE IS OUR CREATOR!!  BECAUSE HE DIED TO REDEEM US!!  BECAUSE WE WOULD ONLY HAVE A ONE-WAY TICKET TO HELL WITHOUT HIS SACRIFICE!!  BECAUSE OUR REDEMPTION IS PERMANENT FOR ETERNITY!! WOULD 1,000,000 YEARS TO PRAISE HIM BE TO BIG A PRICE TO PAY FOR SUCH A GIFT?

Well, not fret, scripture doesn’t tell us it will last that long, but it does reveal all there will be invited and will want to be there and will be praise Him and worshipping Him because they want to.    How about you?
