Holy Pots?

Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 14:21

RECOMMENDED SCRIPTURE READING:  I THESSALONIANS 3:6-13But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.”

COMMENTS:  Acts of love serving others are considered holy to God because He considers such as acts of love to Him.  Cooking and serving a meal or washing dishes or mowing a handicap neighbor’s lawn or taking that neighbor to the doctor or to the grocery store are all considered by Him as holy.   We shouldn’t do them motivated by a desire for reward but because of our love and appreciation for all He has done and continues to do for us.  Jesus said what we do for the least of His children we do for Him.  We can’t out give or out work Him because He extends blessing to those show compassion to others.  But blessings He gives are not always what or when we expect.  Blessings may need to first come in form of more opportunities or even distractions.   Blessings may come in form of short-term hardship or suffering with purpose of preparing us for greater service and credible ministry to some.   But blessing will ultimately come in form of a reward in heaven.   We can’t earn our home in heaven because it is a gift to be received.  But God does desire us to grow in service and love and obedience and relationship with Him, which involves living more and more like He did and exampled while on earth.  He was served but He served more than He was served.  He did without while using His gift to perform miracles to meet the urgent needs of others they couldn’t do for themselves.  He did not allow human weakness and satan’s temptations to have a foothold on Him and always maintained a constant relationship with the Father    He showed us how to do so and promised to both remain close to us and to provide the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to abide in us to be the resource and source of strength we need to live the Christ-like life.  Even more, He forgives when we fail and gives us fresh opportunity to be successful.

Nothing will bring holiness to our lives like studying God’s Word. Psalm 119, the longest chapter of the Bible, reveals the change that comes over diligent Bible students. According to this chapter, when we devote ourselves to the daily study, memorization, meditation, and obedience of Scripture, we learn how to cleanse our way (verse 9); we avoid sinning against God (verse 11); we are inwardly revived and strengthened (verses 25, 28); our hearts are enlarged (verse 32); our eyes turn away from worthless things (verse 37); and we are comforted in affliction (verse 50).

Nothing can compare to the habit of meeting with God over His Word each day. All it takes is a Bible and a dedicated time (and maybe a pen and notebook). Don’t miss this blessing!  Christ exampled and need to do so many times during His busy day and did so to show us importance and how to.  So, do we, both out of need and importance of exampling for others.    We all have those who look up to us, so responsibility is high.

You and I can walk in obedience to God’s Word and live a life of holiness.
