What God Sees

He hangs the earth on nothing.    Job 26:7

Recommended Reading  1 Peter 1:13-15  “13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,”

COMMENTS:  Take notice of insight of Job’s words above.  Job is the oldest book in scripture, written about 400 years before Moses.  Outer space and how the planets revolve around the sun was all a mystery.  It was not known space was a vacuum without air or warmth or anything.  But note Job 26:7 noting the Earth is suspended in “nothing”.  An insight man could not know but God did because He created everything.   God had to reveal this to the author of Job long before scientists or philosophers had a clue.  But those of u s, who believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word to us, shouldn’t be surprised or amazed at such clues and revelations.

Other examples, Isaiah 40:22 refers to the earth being a circle or “round” instead of flat as was believed for many centuries until last 500 years.   Well, God didn’t intend for scripture to be a book of science but a book to show man what God is like and how to be in relationship with Him.  The bible is a guide to live by applicable from Adam through present until His return.  So we have limited evidence proving the Bible supports known science.  But we also need to realize accepted science of medieval times has been proved false in more recent years.  That said, science continues to make progress in discovery – changing perception and understanding.  Instances where science appears to conflict with scripture like creationism vs. evolution is slowly being resolved as flaws in the theory of evolution are discovered and brought to light.  Evolution was embraced as a way of attacking validity of scripture and justifies humanistic beliefs.   The scientific community and public educators all have embraced the “Theory of Evolution” as proven fact and science instead of what it is by definition: Only a theory and one interpretation archeological finds.   Scripture is clear that God created the universe and all planets and life.    The complexity and order of life and all on the world and entire universe shouts the perfect and overwhelming intelligence and wisdom and logical thinking and skillful design and skillful builder God, as creator used.  To believe such order and complexity happened by chance, as evolution teaches, requires more faith than believe God created such order.  Scientific logic and methods disprove evolution if used in an unbiased way to prove.

But most of the world still embraces evolution.  Why? Because to believe any other explanation than evolution would admit God exists and has power and authority over us.

Simon Peter wrote, “With minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:13, NIV).

So, let’s stop fighting or denying God and begin seeking Him and following His teachings and doing what He asks.  Stop blaming others or even God for our problems and take ownership of them and seek God’s help to resolve them.  He is there patiently waiting and willing to help, but waiting for us to ask for His help.

Take note of Jim Irwin’s words and significance for him to say Christ walking on earth has greater significance than man walking on the moon.

“The entire space achievement is put in proper perspective when one realizes that God walking on the earth is more important than man walking on the moon.”                                      James Irwin, astronaut
