Feeling Trapped?

                          psalm91,1

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1
“My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.” Song of Solomon 2:10

COMMENTS: The 10 Commandments were written by God and given to Moses to provide clear direction of God’s Best way to live.  Obeying them would bring blessing and life instead of regrets and death.  Bring blessing instead of consequences.  Life instead of death.  But everyone as broken many or all of these commandments.   Christ came to provide the way of forgiveness to God where obedience was not possible or adequate.  Yet the 10 commandments still are in force giving the best way to live and conduct ourselves.  Obeying them still brings life and disobeying them still brings consequences and death.

But following Christ is so much more than just obeying the 10 commandments, it is being in relationship with our Creator and Redeemer.  It is putting our hand in His at the beginning of each day and walking through each day with our hand in His.  It means seeking His help when tempted or uncertain what to do.  It means when we don’t know which path to take or even when feeling trapped:

  • Placing ourselves and our trust in Him moment by moment
  • Consciously putting our hand in His and being in an attitude of prayer waiting for His direction and stepping out open to His direction with each step take.
  • Seeking and listened for Holy Spirit’s council and spending time seeking God’s council from scripture while doing so.
  • Being in and staying in close contact and fellowship with other Christians – seeking their council and help too.
  • Looking from a perspective of 100 years in future. Looking from God’s perspective.
