Love Unstoppable

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:34-35
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”” John 7:38
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5
“We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
COMMENTS:   Our perfect example of perfect love is Christ.  Love He gave and lived and continues to do so.  Love at no greater sacrifice and benefit to His Beloved (us).  No one is more worthy of our love and devotion.  Yet, loving Him gives us greater capacity to love each other, especially those we find difficult to show love and kindness and compassion.  To love those who do not love with kind in response.

What hinders our capacity to love Christ?  Sin in the form of worry, unforgiveness (anger, bitterness, hurt, rage, vengeance, revenge), pride, selfishness, greed, lust, sexual immorality. and Unkindness. Of course, any unrepented sin has the same affect of separating us or hinders our relationship with Christ.  Yet Christ’s redemptive Love is ready and willing to forgive, remove the stain of sin and remove the barrier sin caused.  Barrier to Himself He quickly removes, but barriers sin causes with other people can take years to remove and only then by commitment living the life change Christ makes possible.  Christ knows our heart but others may not be so convinced or willing to be convinced.  But convinced they will become in time if we truly repent and let His Holy Spirit do the transforming work He desires and we desperately need.  Yet repentance does not result in     transformation without putting action to words, including turning from sin and old habits and making new ones at any cost or sacrifice.
