True Identity

rev 4,1

Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested.

Revelation 15:4

Recommended Reading: Zechariah 8:20-23 “20 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.”

COMMENTS:  What is our identity and purpose.  The most common way to find identity and purpose is through family or religion but race and gender or location or school or vocation all help associate with others we have common ties to and relate to.  We find value in such ties for companionship and support but also for justification of common values and priorities.   This can be a good thing but also can be dangerous if resulting in reinforcing destructive and false values.  Immigrants seek citizenship in a new country bringing their culture and values and  religion.   But welcoming country tries to assimilate new citizens to accept the countries identity and values. Learning the language of that country and accept their identity. Such is necessary to build a common bond and strong national identity but can be destructive if that country is controlled or dominated by evil or abusive leadership.  An example was Adolf Hitler in Germany or Stalin in Russia.  A republic type of government helps prevent such abuse by limiting power any one group or individual can gain and limiting length of time they can be in leadership.

But God’s plan and purpose is for us is universal because He designed and created us all.  Our purpose is to worship Him.  We may think that is egocentric of Him, but consider who else is so worthy of our worship and praise?  Truth is thru worship and praise we find joy and fulfillment and also find unity and common purpose.  We will be worshipping and praising Him in heaven, so why not bring a bit of heaven to earth while here?  Who else is worthy of our worship.   Many have demanded worship and praise and many gods have been created to satisfy a longing to give praise and worship.  Truth is we have a inner need to do so.  But truth is no one or no thing is worthy of our praise and worship.  BUT GOD IS AND CHRIST HAS PAID A UNBELIEVABLE PRICE SO WE CAN HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE PRAISE AND WORSHIP.  When we worship other things or people, we are  really worshipping satan since he Is the motivator.   SATAN IS THE DEFINITELY NOT WORTHY OF OUR WORSHIP AND WILL BRING DESTRUCTION ON THOSE WHO WORSHIP HIM.

So like it or not, God will have His way and we will either worship and honor Him freely out of a heart of gratitude and joy and awe for Him or be forced to out of a heart filled with bitter sin facing God’s judgment for those sins.

As for me, I am so glad and willing for opportunity to worship and praise Him without being forced to.  The more I know Him, the more wonderful and awesome and so worthy of my worship I discover He is.  AMEN!!

Philippians 2:10-11 “10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
