SPRING SHOUTS HE IS RISEN!!!

john 14,6
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
2 Timothy 2:13

SCRIPTURE READING – JOHN 14:1-17 ″Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

COMMENTS:  Easter is a wonderful time to prayfully read the Easter story (Luke 22-24).  Christ transformed the cross from an instrument satan used to spread fear and death to an instrument of hope and redemption.  Easter is not a time of grief but a time for joyous praise and worship.  A time to look to the cross and surrender our wills to follow His Will.  A time to point others to the cross as the only place they can find hope and redemption too.

But we need to focus on Christ and not on ourselves.  It is not about us, it is all about Him! How would you think if you designed and built a beautiful home for your son and/or daughter and gave it to them without cost to them?  Consider it cost most of your savings and many years to build.  Then consider that son or daughter didn’t care for your gift and complained to you when something needed repaired, but never called or visited you when all was well.  That ungrateful child never showed gratitude or love to you for your gift.   Even worse, he would become angry if you took too long to do repairs. Sound familiar?   Is that not the way we treat God? If you don’t think your body is an amazing gift and miracle of engineering and manufacturing.  Consider what you would do without it?  Consider how well it serves us for many more years than any other possession we have.  Consider how complex and well designed and made our bodies are.  WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!! PSALM 139:14

Then consider the home and bodies God is preparing for us in heaven are far more wonderful than anything on earth but they are eternal as well, free from the corruption and influence of sin.  Consider being in perfect and eternal fellowship with our family and friends and most of all with our Lord eternally without death or sickness or ravages of an aging body.  How can we not fall to our knees and lift our arms and voices in praise and worship?  How can we look around and not see proof of His faithfulness and presence?

Do you think it was an accident God picked Spring time for Passover?  Do you think it was an accident He also picked Spring as well as Passover for Easter?   I dare say Spring was selected deliberately for both Passover and for Easter.  Spring is the time of resurrection.  The death of winter gives way to new and resurrected life of Spring.   Spring shouts new life out of death all around us.  EVEN MORE, SPRING SHOUTS HE IS RISEN!!

This Easter, take some time to experience and enjoy the new life of Spring and thank Him. Thank Him for all His has done, but especially for the price He paid on the Cross for you and me!   REMEMBER, HE KNEW HIS FUTURE WAS THE CROSS BEFORE HE CREATED. BEFORE HE CREATED THE UNIVERSE. BEFORE HE CREATED THE WORLD AND EVERYTHIING IN AND ON IT.   BEFORE HE CREATED ADAM AND EVE.   BEFORE HE CREATED YOU AND ME.   YET, HE STILL CREATED…

He loved you and me enough to create us even though He knew we would require a cost for our redemption greater than we could bear.   One only He could bear.   This Easter and this Spring let’s give Him the praise and obedience He deserves and not just complaints when things don’t go the way we want. Even hardship and sickness and poverty don’t hold a candle to what He bore, but He will use what hardships we bear to guide us to be stronger and healthier and more like Him. Isn’t that what needs to be more important to us anyway?   HAPPY EASTER!!
