THE ONLY WAY IS THROUGH THE GATE OF PEARL!!

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.  1 Peter 3:8

Recommended Reading: Luke 10:33  “33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”

COMMENTS: This morning, on the Christian radio (AFR) program “Focus on the Family”, I listen to a sermon Ann Graham Lots gave to a gathering of 2000 women recently.  She shared insights from description of heaven given in Revelation.  One insight that struck me especially was the gates of pearl.  She reminded the audience that a pearl is made by the oyster in order to cover the grain of sand that causes it pain.  The oyster’s pain is only relieved by the covering of pearl.  She shared Christ’ pain and suffering and death brought Him pain in ways and to a depth we cannot know nor understand but will when we see Him, when we pass through the gate of pearl.  Then we will be so overwhelmed that I can’t imagine us not falling to our knees in worship and praise and gratitude and love for Him.  He so deserves our love and praise but also our obedience.  Such a wonderful message He gives us to share.  Such a lifesaving message that is so important and gift that is given without cost to us but at such a cost to Him.  How foolish for us to still think we can earn our way to heaven.  We still get it backwards.  We serve out of love and gratitude and out of concern for others.  We can never earn our way to heaven but must accept Christ’s gift of forgiveness as the only way.  Then and only then will our works and service have lasting value for others, for ourselves, and for Him too!!

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

I may be wrong because scripture doesn’t not tell us this, but I believe we will see His blood buried deep in that gate of pearl when we pass through and realize even more the depth of His sacrifice and pain along with the depth of His love and joy as He experiences our redemption with us.
