How Best to Prepare for the Future

psalm-11-3This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.   Joshua 1:8                                                   PSALM 1:1-6  “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff  that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,  nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.                                                                                                          COMMENTS :    Can you believe we are already this far into 2017 and winter is over ½ over.  Well that part can’t be over too soon, right?  But consider the beauty of fresh layed snow on the trees and ground and sparkle of snow and ice when the sun shines on them.  I can enjoy them more when don’t need to venture outside, but the smell of brisk air in the morning and the sun coming up over fresh layed snow is an experience worth enduring winter’s cold to enjoy.  AMEN?  God has so many such experiences in nature if we just take time to stop and notice.  They all shout “I AM NEAR AND I LOVE YOU.  I WILL NEVER LEAVE NOR FORSAKE YOU!” Well, right now the sun is just starting to come up but is hid by clouds.  Even days when clouds and difficult times overwhelm us, God’s shining light is still doing it’s job providing light to light our day and path.  Even when we can’t see the sun, we can still see what it is doing. AMEN!                                                                                                                                                       Today’s verses from Joshua and Psalm 1 give so much assurance and promise to you and me.  Hope and promises that strengthened Joshua and David so many centuries ago.  Hope and promises that also strengthen us because they are still very much in force and being implemented by our God now as they were then.  Blessings to those who keep God’s law and follow His instruction are sure and best.  The consequences to those who don’t is also sure and tragic.  God does everything He can to warn and discourage us from following the destructive path of sin, a path satan is gleefully working and deceiving us into following.  Satan enjoyed harming us because he knows how much it hurts God.  He knows how much God loves and cares for us and believes God is vulnerable because of that love for us, especially when we are so weak and prone to disobey Him and so easily deceived into following satan.  But what satan’s pride doesn’t allow him to see is God’s love is infinitely more powerful than evil and God’s plan will prevail in spite satan’s worst efforts and our weakest days.   Do let todays scriptures soak into your soul and guide you today.  Let them guide you as you do normal daily tasks but also as you cross paths with many you see each day and some you rarely see.  Let’s see what blessings God has waiting if we take time and accept interruptions God puts on our path to touch someone God wants us to touch today.  We will be glad when we do…
